This French luxury fashion brand was established by Madame Grès in 1942, and it also owns the perfume company Parfums Grès. Germaine Émilie Krebs (1903–1993) is known as Madame Grès. She previously worked under the names "Alix" or "Alix Grès" for thirty years until she relaunched her design company under the name Grès in 1942.

Madame Grès created high fashion designs for many famous fashion icons, including the Duchess of Windsor, Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo, Jacqueline Kennedy, and Dolores del Río. In the 1980s, Madame Grès sold her business to the Japanese company Yagi Tsucho, who hired Lloyd Klein as the artistic director. In 2012, the last Grès boutique in Paris officially closed its doors.
Bags from this brand are highly prized, and you won't find replicas on the market. This bag comes in a tortoiseshell color, adorned with a circular gold logo plaque, presenting a distinctive elongated trapezoidal shape.
